Abstract

A clinical non-comparative open trial study to evaluate the clinical efficacy of cefbuperazone(Tomiporan ) in gynecologic infections was carried out in 30 patients, who visited outpatient clinic or admitted to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of Chonbuk National University Hospital, from July 1992 to August 1992. The results are as follows; 1. Ages ranged from 20 years 62 years with a mean of 33.8 years, and pelvic inflammatory disease was the most frequent gynecologic indication in this study. 2. Cefbuperazone was sensitive to 88.9% of isolated organisms. 3. In bacteriologic response, the eradication rate was 85.2%. 4. The clinical efficacy rate of cefbuperazone was 90% in this study. 5. In global assessment, the excellent result was 33.3%, and the good was 56.7%. 6. There were no remarkable adverse effects in this study group.
